About this book. This publication combines and replaces Forestry Commission Field Book 1: Top Diameter Sawlog Tables and Forestry Commission Field Book Mid Diameter Volume top diameter method for assessing volume is restricted to groups . The sawlog volume of the tree may be found by referring to the table on the “Tree Scale” side of the stick. If, for example, the tree is 16 inches in diameter and contains three foot logs, the volume ( board feet) will be found under the inch volume on the 3-log line. This publication combines and replaces Forestry Commission Field Book 1: Top diameter sawlog tables and Forestry Commission Field Book Mid diameter . This handbook contains guidance on the mid and top diameter methods of measuring sawlogs and associated volume tables in a handy tabbed-format booklet for use in the field. The capacity of the 'Loadrite' is 40 tonnes/lift and data can be accumulated to tonnes. It does not require tare weights, and provides "volume" estimates at a cost of 15 cents/m^3 (compared with $1/m3 by direct measurement, i.e. measurement of length, diameter and reference to log tables). History and use. The first tables of trigonometric functions known to be made were by Hipparchus (c – c BCE) and Menelaus (c– CE), but both have been lost. Along with the surviving table of Ptolemy (c. 90 – c CE), they were all tables of chords and not of half-chords, that is, the sine function. The table produced by the Indian mathematician Āryabhaṭa (– CE. This book's discussions on table saw history, design, application, and safety are written with a wealth of first-person experience behind them. Mehler's style is relatively jargon-free, in that he explains the common terms used in woodworking when they come up/5(56). total sawlog value $2, $2, $2, $2, * bf basis * ** ** board foot volume cubic foot volume mean bf/cf ratiomean bf/cf ratio total # of sawlogs 76 92 73 71 total length of sawlogs (ft)File Size: KB.
